What is Inventrax OMS?

An Order Management System helps a business track every order from start to finish — placed, packed, shipped, delivered. I designed this for two big clients: NeelKamal, one of India's largest furniture companies, and PepsiCo, the global food and drinks brand. Both handle a huge number of orders every single day.

The Problem

When you have hundreds of orders moving at the same time, things can get confusing fast. Teams need to quickly find which orders are late, which need approval, and which have a problem. Before this redesign, finding that information meant too many clicks and too much time wasted. NeelKamal had many different types of orders — some for shops, some for big companies. PepsiCo needed visibility across a huge delivery network. Both companies needed the same product, but their ways of working were very different.

What I Did

I spent time with teams from both companies to understand how they actually use the system. What do they look at first thing in the morning? What takes the most time? Those answers shaped everything I designed.

The most important feature I built was a clear order status view — a simple visual that shows exactly where each order is in its journey. Users can see in seconds if an order is on time, stuck, or needs action. Problem orders are highlighted so they stand out from the rest of the list.

I also made it easy to work with many orders at once. Instead of clicking through them one by one, users can now select a group and act on all of them together. This saved a lot of time for teams dealing with large volumes every day.

Throughout the project I worked directly with the Director and senior leaders, sharing design updates and getting feedback to keep the product aligned with business needs.

What I learned

Large companies have complex workflows. But the people doing the work still want things to be simple. The best thing I did here was listen carefully to how the teams actually worked — then build something that fits their real daily routine, not just something that looked good on paper.
